Family is an important concept when creating a model. To complete a model, we need to create families. A family is a graphic representation of a component, object, symbol or equipment. It can include geometry in 2D or 3D as well as data that supports the definition and creation of object instances. Engineers and contractors are more like to spec their equipment if it is inside the 3D virtual model.
